HR Manager – Payroll Experience Required

Location: Central Houston, TX
Position: Full-Time

A dynamic Houston company located in Central Houston is seeking an experienced HR Manager with strong hands-on payroll experience to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys managing a broad range of human resources responsibilities while also taking ownership of the payroll function.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day HR functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, compliance, and HR policies and procedures.
• Manage and process payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Support and improve HR and payroll systems, processes, and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage employee onboarding and offboarding.
• Provide guidance and support to management and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and employee-related matters.
• Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
• Support employee engagement and help foster a positive, professional work environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of combined HR and payroll experience required.
• Strong hands-on payroll processing experience required.
• Experience with multi-state payroll strongly preferred.
• Experience implementing or transitioning HR and/or payroll systems is a strong plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus.
• Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment regulations.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
