Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Enrolled Agent (EA) to lead our Tax Department. In this role, you will prepare tax returns, manage tax resolution cases, represent clients before the IRS/state agencies, and oversee department workflow. We are looking for a collaborative leader with deep technical expertise who is excited to grow with our firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Tax Preparation: Prepare and review individual and business returns (1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065) ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Tax Resolution: Represent clients before tax authorities; negotiate installment agreements, OICs, penalty abatements, and CNC status.
• Department Management: Manage operations, review staff work, assign workloads, and ensure filing deadlines are met.
• Client Communication: Serve as the primary contact for client tax questions, explaining complex concepts in clear terms.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate with bookkeeping, payroll, CFO, and admin teams to ensure seamless client service.

Qualifications

• Active Enrolled Agent (EA) credential required.
• 3+ years of experience in tax preparation and hands-on tax resolution.
• Management experience preferred; strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with ProConnect and Canopy preferred.
• Collaborative, team-first mindset with high attention to detail.
