The Clinical Informaticist focuses on the effective use of information technology (IT) to improve patient care, enhance healthcare operations, and optimize the use of healthcare resources. This role serves as a bridge between clinical teams and IT professionals, ensuring the successful integration and utilization of electronic health records (EHR), clinical decision support systems (CDSS), and other healthcare technologies. The Clinical Informaticist evaluates clinical workflows, recommends process improvements, and supports technology solutions that enhance scalability, efficiency, and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities:
- Integrate and implement new technologies within clinical environments.
- Bridge the gap between healthcare operations and technology to improve client care, enhance workflows, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, information systems teams, and vendors to streamline processes and improve outcomes.
- Develop and implement informatics strategies that enhance clinical workflows, data accuracy, and client safety.
- Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of EHR, CDSS, and other clinical systems.
- Analyze clinical data to identify trends, measure outcomes, and generate reports that support operational and clinical decision-making.
- Provide technical training and support to clinical staff on healthcare information systems and technologies.
- Conduct testing of existing technologies, system upgrades, and pilot programs for new solutions.
- Monitor and evaluate system performance, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
- Partner with clinical teams to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives based on data insights and best practices.
- Recommend process improvements and change management strategies using analytics, operational data, and workflow assessments.
- Maintain knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and secure management of patient information.
- Facilitate interoperability and integration across health information systems to support seamless data exchange.
- Support healthcare IT system integration efforts that enhance data management and clinical workflows.
- Manage clinical application releases and upgrades, assess impacts, coordinate testing, and provide training related to system changes.
- Train new employees and develop role-specific training programs for clinical applications and workflows.
- Collaborate with application support teams and subject matter experts to test and validate software updates and releases.
- Support organizational initiatives focused on quality improvement, operational excellence, and client outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Six (6) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in healthcare informatics or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of clinical workflows, EHR systems, healthcare information technology, and clinical data management.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across clinical, operational, and technical teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
