Job description

Project Manager – Mobile Home Construction

Location: Liberty Hill / Bertram, TX
Service Area: Central Texas and surrounding areas
Job Type: Full-Time

About the Position

We are a fast-paced general contracting company specializing in construction and site development for mobile and manufactured homes throughout Central Texas. We typically have 50–75 active projects at any given time and complete approximately 200 mobile home projects per year.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who can take ownership of projects from scheduling through completion. This is a hands-on position that combines office management, field work, customer communication, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and problem solving.

This is not an email-only or desk-only position. You will spend time in the office, but you will also be expected to drive to job sites, inspect work, coordinate with contractors and utilities, communicate with customers, and provide accurate updates on project progress.

The right person will enjoy working with people, be comfortable making phone calls, be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and have enough construction knowledge to recognize problems before they become expensive problems.

What You'll Be Managing

Our projects can involve a wide range of construction and site-development work, including:

  • Tree clearing and site preparation
  • Mobile home base pads and foundations
  • Concrete foundations
  • Electrical utility hookups
  • Water hookups
  • Sewer hookups
  • Septic systems
  • Driveways
  • Deck construction
  • Skirting
  • General carpentry and site work
  • Coordination of utility and municipal requirements

Projects are performed in accordance with applicable FHA, VA, Texas State Modular Code, and local requirements, depending on the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist to manage approximately 50–75 active projects at various stages of construction
  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, utility companies, inspectors, and other parties
  • Monitor job progress and make regular field visits
  • Identify issues in the field and coordinate solutions
  • Communicate project updates and expectations to customers
  • Handle customer questions and concerns professionally and promptly
  • Communicate with customers by phone as well as email
  • Review and understand engineered plans and construction drawings
  • Coordinate with city and county municipalities
  • Coordinate with utility providers and other governmental agencies
  • Track project schedules and ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintain accurate project information and documentation
  • Use Quickbooks, Buildertrend, Dropbox for project management and document organization
  • Coordinate multiple jobs simultaneously without losing track of details
  • Provide management with accurate updates regarding project status, delays, and issues
  • Help ensure work is completed according to plans, applicable codes, and company standards
  • Travel throughout the Central Texas service area as needed

Required Qualifications

Construction experience is required. This is not an entry-level construction management position.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience managing construction projects
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and sequencing
  • Ability to read and understand engineered drawings and construction plans
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage numerous projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to communicate with customers by phone
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel to job sites throughout Central Texas
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Basic computer proficiency

Preferred Experience

Experience with mobile homes, manufactured homes, modular homes, or residential site development is strongly preferred.

Additional experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Mobile/manufactured home installation
  • Foundations and concrete
  • Septic systems
  • Electrical or utility coordination
  • Water and sewer connections
  • Driveways and site preparation
  • Decks and carpentry
  • FHA or VA construction requirements
  • Texas modular construction requirements
  • Working with city/county permitting departments
  • Working directly with utility providers
  • Buildertrend or similar construction management software

What This Job Is Like

This is a fast-paced position with a lot of moving parts.

We currently work on approximately 200 mobile home projects per year throughout Central Texas. Our service area extends roughly:

  • West toward Fredericksburg
  • South toward San Antonio
  • East toward College Station
  • North toward Dallas

You may spend part of your day in the office scheduling jobs and communicating with customers, and the next part driving to a job site to solve a problem, inspect work, coordinate contractors, or provide a customer with an update.

Deadlines matter. Projects need to move forward and issues need to be addressed quickly. You will be expected to stay organized, communicate proactively, and take ownership of your projects.

This is not a job for someone who wants to sit behind a computer all day or wait for someone else to tell them what needs to be done.

Who Will Excel in This Position?

This position is a great fit for someone who:

  • Enjoys interacting with people
  • Likes solving problems
  • Can handle a busy schedule without becoming overwhelmed
  • Is comfortable talking to customers and contractors
  • Can confidently make phone calls and have difficult conversations when necessary
  • Takes ownership rather than making excuses
  • Notices details and follows through
  • Can switch between office work and field work throughout the day
  • Enjoys working in different environments and meeting new people
  • Wants a position where every day isn't exactly the same

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, meet homeowners and contractors throughout Central Texas, and play a direct role in helping people turn their plans for a new home into reality.

If you have construction experience, enjoy working with people, and are looking for a challenging position where you can take ownership and make a real impact, we'd like to hear from you.
