General Manager, SubSea Craft US (Operations) Inc
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the leadership of operational performance in the U.S. subsidiary delivering advanced maritime technology solutions to the United States Department of War. The Company intends to operate as a mitigated entity under a U.S. Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) mitigation arrangement and the General Manager will be a critical stakeholder in developing and embedding the Special Security Agreement practices within the day-to-day operation.
The General Manager will work under the strategic direction of the President and Board of Directors, while enjoying operational autonomy for personnel, programme execution, and allocation of the approved annual operating budget. The General Manager will also ensure strict compliance with the mitigation agreement once in place, as well as the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM), export control laws, and all applicable U.S. Government security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the Company strategy for entry to the United States Department of War maritime technology market.
- Accountable for all operations of SubSea Craft US (Operations) Inc, including programmes, field operations, and secure facilities.
- Deliver contract and programme performance in accordance with cost, schedule, technical, quality, and security requirements.
- Develop the annual operating plan and manage the approved budget across operations and strategic initiatives.
- Build and lead a high-performing cleared workforce.
- Support the development of robust FOCI mitigation measures.
- Lead the implementation of agreed FOCI mitigation measures within operations, supported by the Board of Directors, Government Security Committee and Facility Security Officer.
- Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. federal, state, and local legal and regulatory requirements, including financial reporting, tax, employment, data privacy, and corporate governance obligations.
- Ensure compliance with NISPOM, ITAR / EAR, Technology Control Plans, and all export control requirements.
- Attend no less than six (6) Board meetings per year to report on progress.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or 8+ years with a master’s degree.
- Direct work experience with the United States Navy.
- Demonstrable history of leading within a start-up or early-stage company.
- The ability to forge strong customer and to build, maintain, and motivate a high-performance execution team.
- The ability to advocate and influence government acquisition plans and create new business capture strategies.
- A strong collaborator comfortable navigating within an international group.
- Ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks while operating in a demanding, high-paced environment.
- Understanding of export/import control rules and regulations such as ITAR, EAR, FAR, DFAR, etc.
- Ability to obtain a Security Clearance (US Citizenship as a pre-requisite).
Travel Requirements
Travel as required for customer engagement, programme oversight, and coordination with the parent company (approx. 25%).
Compensation
Compensation range $160,000 - $200,000 USD based on experience and location.
