Position Overview
The Service Manager is responsible for leading daily service operations and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. This role serves as a visible leader on the floor, supporting service execution, team development, and hospitality standards while helping bring Straker’s London-born hospitality culture to life in New York City.

The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and leads by example through professionalism, accountability, and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead service during assigned shifts and maintain a consistent presence on the floor
• Support daily restaurant operations and ensure service standards are executed at a high level
• Coach, develop, and motivate FOH team members through ongoing feedback and training
• Lead pre-shift meetings and reinforce hospitality, product knowledge, and service expectations
• Monitor guest experience and proactively address concerns or service recovery opportunities
• Foster strong communication and collaboration between FOH, BOH, and bar teams
• Support hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives as needed
• Ensure cleanliness, organization, and Department of Health readiness throughout the restaurant
• Assist with opening and closing procedures and ensure operational standards are maintained
• Support special events, new opening initiatives, and evolving operational needs of the business

Qualifications

• 2+ years of restaurant management or supervisory experience in a hospitality-driven environment
• Strong understanding of restaurant service standards and guest experience
• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable providing coaching, feedback, and direction to team members
• Familiarity with Toast POS and Google Workspace
• Pre-opening experience preferred
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
