Stephen Bruce & Associates is licensed to practice in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Kansas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma.Position SummaryStephen L Bruce PC is seeking a mid-level Debt Collector for a full-time, onsite role in Edmond, Oklahoma. This position exists to support compliant account resolution through professional, respectful communication with consumers.Key responsibilities include managing inbound and outbound telephone activity to secure payments, negotiating payment arrangements when appropriate, maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of each interaction, and adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The role requires comfort remaining at a workstation and on the phone for extended periods.Required qualifications and skills:- Prior experience as a debt collector or negotiator (required)- Strong verbal and written communication with an empathetic, professional approach- Effective negotiation skills and high ethical standards- Computer proficiency; excellent attendance and time management- Ability to work independently and collaboratively; adaptability and willingness to learnQualified candidates are encouraged to apply and demonstrate a commitment to compliant, respectful collections.Daily WorkflowYour day as a Debt Collector typically begins with reviewing assigned accounts and prioritizing outreach. Throughout the day, you will move between scheduled follow-ups and new contacts, balancing firmness with professionalism and transparency. You will use established systems to record outcomes in real time and stay organized across multiple accounts. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with optional overtime available when volume warrants. You will work onsite with a team that values a positive attitude and consistent, compliant execution—so your efforts translate directly into healthier revenue streams and clear, documented resolution progress.Compensation & BenefitsThis full-time role offers a competitive salary of $40,000 plus commission, along with Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage. Additional benefits include a 401(k), Life Insurance, and a Flexible Spending Account. Paid Time Off is provided, and employees may access a dedicated Snack/Drink Room.Candidates chosen for this position must pass a background check and drug screening.
