Job Summary
 
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Plumbing Project Manager and Estimator to join our clients commercial construction team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids for plumbing systems on large-scale commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on trade or engineering experience, strong knowledge of construction drawings and specifications, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, field teams, vendors, and clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Compile and organize solicitation documentation for bidding opportunities.
  • Request, qualify, and evaluate pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and equipment vendors.
  • Prepare accurate, detailed plumbing and mechanical estimates based on plans, specifications, and site conditions.
  • Develop formal proposals for review and client submission.
  • Review and provide guidance on proposals prepared by junior estimators.
  • Prepare detailed project documentation for field personnel and participate in job award meetings.
  • Collaborate with project managers during award and execution phases, including subcontractor selection, budget buyouts, change order evaluations, and claim analysis.
  • Monitor project solicitations, coordinate labor forecasting, and communicate with field teams on staffing needs.
Must-Have Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4 years of project management and cost estimating experience in commercial plumbing/mechanical systems.
  • Trade or engineering background—plumbing journeyman license or mechanical engineering experience highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex construction documents and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Vista Viewpoint, Trimble Estimation, and Bluebeam or similar PDF editing software.
  • Prior work in commercial construction project management and estimating for large-scale projects.
  • Knowledge of current industry pricing, labor rates, and market trends.

  • Occasional use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting job sites.
