Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement individualized physical therapy plans that address patients' needs, capabilities, and goals, focusing on improving mobility and functionality.
  • Evaluate each patient’s functional abilities using diagnostic tests and assessments to develop tailored treatment strategies.
  • Oversee the work of Physical Therapy Assistants ensuring that treatment plans are effectively executed and appropriate care is delivered.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients’ home environments, making recommendations that promote independence and safety.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises, assist patients in performing manual exercises, and employ physical modalities such as traction and massage for pain relief.
  • Assess and fit prosthetic and orthotic devices, working closely with patients and their families to ensure optimal use and comfort.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including patient evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team during case conferences, actively contributing to comprehensive treatment evaluations for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Educate and guide patients and their families in treatment programs, ensuring they fully understand all aspects of their rehabilitation journey.
  • Be accessible to Physical Therapy Assistants during patient treatments to ensure compliance and quality of care.
  • Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as directed that align with our organizational goals.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist at St. Luke's Therapeutics, you will primarily work with diverse populations, including elderly patients recovering from surgeries, individuals with chronic pain, and those rehabilitating from injuries. Your role will be crucial in enhancing their physical abilities and ensuring their return to daily activities.

Qualifications
  • A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
  • Must possess an active license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of Florida.
  • No history of sanctions or board proceedings related to your professional practice.
  • Strong familiarity with a variety of manual therapy techniques and therapeutic modalities.
  • Adept in creating tailored exercise programs for a range of patients, ensuring they are both engaging and effective.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) software, particularly Web PT, for accurate documentation and communication.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current physical therapy research and methodologies.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in an outpatient or institutional rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • History of developing successful patient education programs and materials.
Compensation and Benefits
