Job Description
Job Title: Neurosurgeon

Must-Have:

Description:
Board Certified Neurosurgeon needed to provide coverage 5-7 days a month including outpatient clinic, operating room, and call coverage.
Responsibilities include timely answering of emergency room calls and recording plans in charts within 30 minutes.
After hour calls start at 5 PM from outpatient cases with questions, responded to via phone.
It is preferred that coverage be provided for 5 consecutive days.
Sign out and hand off to incoming physicians is required.
Emergency and urgent cases must be covered adequately.
Any non-emergent cases should be referred to other surgeons.
Patient encounters per shift vary.
Specific skills preferred include:
- General Neurosurgery
- Adult and Pediatric Neurosurgery
- Trauma and Cerebrovascular procedures
- Aneurysm clipping and tumor resections
- Stereotactic radiosurgery and functional neurosurgery
- Spinal surgery, both with and without instrumentation
- Peripheral nerve surgery
- Pain procedures and endovascular procedures
- Placement of intracranial pressure monitors and management of ventilation
- Central line placement
