Account Manager Job Description

We’re seeking a qualified Account Manager to help us sell the products and services that have made us a local and nationwide leader in the commercial and industrial sectors.

Core Responsibilities

• Represent our company, with a comprehensive understanding of our offerings
• Generate new business through cold outreach, networking and referrals
• Identify customer needs and recommend solutions that align with their goals and project
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a seamless customer experience
• Adjust sales techniques based on interactions and results
• Stay informed on market trends, competitors, and industry developments
• Must be comfortable with technology and online platforms

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

• Conduct outbound calls, emails and follow-ups to generate new opportunities
• Meet with clients (virtually and/or in person) to understand their needs
• Maintain accurate records of all sales activities in CRM systems
• Work with the Executive team to design industry-specific outbound efforts
• Utilize company provided resources and tools to ensure standard processes during all sales stages
• Conduct month-end and year-end close processes
• Respond to inquires via phone, email and chat

Skills and Qualifications

• 1-5 years in sales within an industrial, construction, material handling or similar setting
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, telephone, and negotiation skills
• High level of dependability among relationships with vendors, customers and fellow team members
• Strong commitment to internal communication with other employees
• Experience working with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office tools
• Experience closing enterprise level deals
• Ability to quickly learn products and adapt sales strategies
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience preferred but not required
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Excellent motivational skills and works well with a team but can work alone
• Strong time management and organizational skills and ability to properly prioritize
• Passion for the products, people and industry
