Role Description This is a full-time Heating Air Conditioning Technician role in a hybrid work arrangement based in Gatlinburg, TN, with some work-from-home tasks such as scheduling, documentation, and remote customer support. The technician will install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including diagnosing equipment issues and performing necessary adjustments or replacements. Daily responsibilities include responding to service calls, conducting preventive maintenance inspections, checking system performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The role also involves interacting with customers to explain findings, provide recommendations, prepare service reports, and coordinate with the office team on parts ordering and job scheduling.

Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing HVAC performance issues and identifying effective repair solutions.
  • Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC equipment, including condensate lines and hydronic components.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance on heating and cooling systems, including cleaning, calibration, and routine inspections.
  • Understanding of electricity and electrical systems, including safe wiring practices, reading schematics, and using diagnostic tools.
  • Current EPA certification or eligibility to obtain certification for handling refrigerants and ensuring environmental compliance.
  • Relevant technical training or certification in HVAC, building systems, or a related field.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment, work in varying weather conditions, and follow safety protocols consistently.
  • Effective communication skills for explaining technical issues to customers and documenting service work clearly.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to customer sites in the Gatlinburg area.
