Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, allowing you the flexibility to deliver care from the comfort of your own space. Utilizing telehealth technology, you’ll interact with clients through secure video conferencing platforms that comply with HIPAA regulations. This setup not only supports a healthy work-life balance but also ensures that you can provide therapeutic services efficiently while connecting with clients in various settings across the Edison, New Jersey area.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop and implement tailored treatment plans that meet each client’s specific needs.
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused techniques to address individual, couple, and family concerns.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care for clients, leveraging the expertise of various health professionals to enhance treatment outcomes.
• Engage in continuous professional development and training to stay informed about the latest advancements in mental health care, thereby improving service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The client population at Small Steps Psychological Services includes individuals and families facing a wide range of mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance misuse. Many of our clients may have historically encountered barriers to accessing care, and your role will be crucial in bridging that gap by providing empathetic support and effective therapeutic interventions via telehealth.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey, with an active and unrestricted license.
• A minimum of two years of relevant counseling experience, with a preference for clinical settings.
• Demonstrated knowledge of legal and ethical standards pertinent to mental health practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse clientele.

Additionally, proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and telehealth platforms is essential to ensure efficient documentation and care delivery.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization in family therapy, couples counseling, trauma-informed care, or substance use counseling is highly desirable.
• Experience working collaboratively within a healthcare team to provide comprehensive care.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on your experience and caseload.
