Job description

TRAVELING CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT


SUMMARY


Provide overall on-site supervision and management to ensure that the project runs smoothly and finishes on time for all stakeholders.  


Expectations and Responsibilities::


  • Competently handle duties of supervising each project given.
  • Enforcing all rules and regulations of the project for all employees and contractors 
  • Opening the project site 30 minutes prior to daily start time..
  • Closing the project site after all the trades and individuals have departed for the day.
  • Scheduling- Ensure project schedule is followed by:
    • Working with the General Superintendent and Project Manager to provide two week look ahead schedule each week to all subcontractors and project employees
    • Enforcing the current project schedule to all subcontractors 
    • Update the schedule for any new issues that may arise within the project along with the project PM
  • Planning- Staying ahead of project schedule and preparing subcontractors:
    • Confirming all subcontractor schedules 2 weeks prior to on site date.  Ensuring subcontractors have all materials and equipment to complete their scope of work. 
    • Ensure deliveries of equipment and materials are set up with the building and project team on a daily basis. 
    • Verifying all deliveries are free of damage and are being store appropriately. 
    • Require all subcontractors and project team document deliveries in project office 
  • Safety-  Ensuring all subcontractors and job site visitors are following company standards and OSHA standards throughout each workday:
    •  Responsible for all required permits throughout  the building on each specific                                                               project site. I.E., hot work permits, shut down requests, lock out tag out of electrical panels, ventilation system shutdowns, sprinkler shutdowns/drain downs, fire alarm panels taking out of service for the day.
    • All proper PPE is being worn and used correctly.
    • All job site entrances and exits are being correctly managed and closed off from any unauthorized visitors.
  • Quality control
    • Verifying the building is prepared for scope of work, examples include but are not limited to 
      • Building temperature is appropriate for material installation
      • Onsite materials are acclimated to building temperature before installation
      • Concrete is cured before being walked on 
      • Existing surfaces are protected per scope 
    • Walk project site floor by floor multiple times per day to ensure subcontractors are executing scopes of work accurately and verifying items are being installed per specifications and per plans. 


  • Relationships- Provide and enforce a professional and collaborative working environment 
    • Make sure all subcontractors are working cohesively with hotel staff and project management team 
    • Participate in all scheduled OAC calls
    • Work closely with design and architectural team for site specific information

Requirements::

  • 7-10 years of construction experience preferably in hospitality renovations
  • Experience reading project plans and documents 
  • Working experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft, Google
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more 
  • Traveling to and staying at assigned jobsites
  • Valid US drivers licence 
  • HS Diploma required


Compensations & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $125,000 - 170,000
    Base salary with bonus opportunities based on 40 or more working hours per week
    • Discretionary bound up to 10% of salary 
    • Daily per diem while on project sites
    • Cell phone reimbursement 
  • SEP IRA plan. The Company contributes up to 4% of your base salary on an annual basis.
  • Health, (BlueCross BlueShield PPO) Dental, Vision, Long and Short-Term Disability and Life Insurance coverage through Met Life will become effective the first day of the month following the first 30 days of employment
  • 10 paid vacation days per employment year. PTO does not accrue or rollover  and is not eligible for payout at the end of the year. 
  • Paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day,  Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.  (final holiday schedules will be determined through the year)
  • Semi-Annual performance reviews 
  • Automatic payroll deposit
