Description
Job Summary
To provide and ensure delivery of 6-1-1 Emergency communication services, by effective organization and coordination of 24-hour operation for Santa Cruz Seaside Company (SCSC).
Monitors and dispatches on multiple radio frequencies including primarily: Security, Operations, and support departments. Assists and provides support to the Boardwalk Manager on Duty (MOD). Must maintain confidentiality concerning all guest and employee interactions, conversations, and incidents. Performs various clerical duties. Most Guest and Team Member interactions will be over the phone and radio. Keeps accurate records in computer-aided dispatch, operates surveillance camera systems and monitors several alarm systems. Communicates with the Santa Cruz Regional 9-1-1 Center.
Unique Job Requirements
This is a unique opportunity to join Santa Cruz Seaside Company's Security Dispatch Team as a Security Dispatch Staff Team Member.
This position requires flexibility in scheduling and may include day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed to maintain operational coverage.
Receives radio traffic and phone calls regarding emergency situations.
Must follow Company grooming and hygiene policies. Must be able to remain calm during high stress situations. Must be able to work under minimal to no supervision. Works in a fast paced environment while handling a variety of clerical duties. Must be able to hear phone conversations. Must be able to communicate clearly, concisely and efficiently both verbally and in writing. Works closely with the Security Officers in the Security Department. Offers support to Communications Staff as needed during the Fall and Winter season.
Job Tasks
Use CCTV system to actively monitor park locations and Guests, as well as SCSC commercial and residential properties to ensure the safety of Boardwalk Guests and Team Members.
Operate multiple radio frequencies to communicate with Security, Operations and support departments and to dispatch support department personnel as needed
Receive and respond appropriately to in-house maintenance, Security, and Team Member calls.
Send confidential e-mails and SMS messages
Work independently and as part of a team answering multiple radios and phones lines
Monitor and report alarms
Provide assistance and support to the Manager on Duty and ensure the Boardwalk Manager on Duty is aware of emergency situations and/or priority incidents.
At the direction of Supervisor or Boardwalk Manager on Duty, responsible for activating emergency procedures, such as Park evacuations and Emergency Operations Center
Record and log requests for Maintenance and Security
Review and send out the Media Log
Enter Field Interview cards and Trespass Notifications (TPN)
Review the Media Log
Review footage as requested
Monitor and report alarms
Perform all tasks under minimal to no supervision
Must communicate issues requiring immediate attention to Supervisor or Dispatch staff as appropriate
Operate a multiline phone system by answering and directing calls
Perform other duties as assigned
Relationships (Internal)
All Santa Cruz Seaside Company and Concessionaire Team Members with a strong emphasis on Security personnel.
Relationships (External)
Minimal Guest interaction - mostly via telephon/Itercom. Interacts heavily with Santa Cruz Regional 911 (NETCOM).
Qualifications: Training and Experience
Some experience operating a multiline phone system, radio consoles and surveillance cameras is helpful. Prior experience at, or knowledge of the Boardwalk is also helpful.

Physical Requirements
Able to work in a confined office environment and sit for extended periods of time.
Able to stand and walk occasionally throughout the shift.
Able to view and monitor multiple computer screens, CCTV monitors, dispatch software, and alarm systems for extended periods.
Able to distinguish colors, text, symbols, and visual details on computer monitors and security camera systems.
Able to hear and distinguish telephone conversations, radio traffic, alarms, and other auditory signals in the presence of background noise and distractions.
Able to communicate clearly and effectively in person, by telephone, radio, email, and text message.
Able to type and enter data accurately while simultaneously listening to and processing information from multiple sources.
Able to coordinate multiple events, incidents, and emergency responses simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Able to sustain concentration and situational awareness for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
Able to use standard office and dispatch equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, radio consoles, CCTV systems, and alarm monitoring systems.
Able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 pounds.
Able to see, read, and interpret documents, maps, logs, and computer-generated information.
Possess bi-manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboards, telephones, radios, and other office equipment.
