    Job description

    What's the Short Version?

    The VP, Global Logistics is responsible for the timely and efficient movement of SanMar’s world‑wide shipments. The position includes direct leadership of SanMar’s Logistics department, close partnership with domestic/international logistics providers, vigilant monitoring of shipping trends, and a creative approach to solving logistics challenges in a way that truly serves SanMar’s customers.

    What Will You Be Doing?
    • Provide strategic leadership to SanMar’s global logistics department with a focus on exceptional customer service, ongoing career development and mentoring of the team, and authentic partnership with other departments across the company.
    • Translate the company’s business plans into a clear logistics vision tied to departmental goals and effectiveness measures.
    • Manage the development and growth of SanMar’s transportation networks in a way that ensures their scalability to meet the company’s ongoing growth initiatives.
    • Foster, grow, and manage authentic partnerships with SanMar’s strategic logistics providers including parcel carriers, steamship lines, freight forwarders, LTL carriers, FTL carriers, software companies, air freight carriers and drayage companies.
    • Provide strategic relationship management to logistics partners including performance reviews, ongoing network assessments, and contract negotiation.
    • Identify inefficiencies across SanMar’s logistics networks and develop process‑oriented solutions that eliminate waste and streamline the flow of goods and information.
    • Help define, implement, and document the approach for ongoing projects and appropriately align efforts and support across the logistics department.
    • Manage the budget and other financial measures of the logistics department.
    • Champion a service‑oriented approach across the company and logistics department in a way that consistently models SanMar’s Family Values.
    • Build strong cross‑functional partnerships with cross‑functional SanMar business units, including Sales, Distribution, Legal, Customs Compliance, and Sourcing.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Comply with all policies and standards.
    What Are We Looking For?
    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
    • 10+ years of global logistics experience, including top‑level organizational responsibility
    • Deep experience in parcel/LTL/FTL shipping including network optimization, performance monitoring, vendor management, and contract negotiation
    • Fluency in international logistics with experience in import/export processes and regulations, carrier evaluation/selection, network development, and performance benchmarking
    • Extensive leadership experience and a proven track record of strong employee relations at all levels
    • Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to quickly adapt to change in the work environment
    • Proven ability to effectively influence, build trust, communicate and connect with employees at all levels of the department and company
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Personal ethical character that is effective, credible and genuine
    • Take initiative to identify and anticipate departmental needs and make recommendations for implementation
    • Ability to travel monthly to both domestic and international locations
    What's Our Offer?

    Salary Range: You’ll earn between $297,000 - $456,000 annually, depending on experience.

    Bonus: You’ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 30% of base salary.

    Paid Time Off: You’ll accrue paid time off on a bi‑weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

    What Should You Expect?

    Hybrid: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions.

    SanMar’s Eastpointe office is located near Seattle, WA and our standard working hours are 8:00‑5:00 PST. Quarterly travel may be required.
