Cashier | Shawarma House — Ocean Beach, San Diego

Shawarma House is a busy, locally owned Mediterranean quick-service restaurant in Ocean Beach. We’re looking for a dependable, guest-focused Cashier who enjoys a fast-paced team environment and takes pride in getting every order right.

What you’ll do

• Welcome guests, answer menu questions, and make confident food recommendations.

• Take accurate dine-in, pickup, and phone orders using Toast; handle cash and card transactions responsibly.

• Keep the counter, beverage area, and dining room clean, stocked, and ready for the next guest.

• Coordinate clearly with the kitchen so orders are accurate and ready on time.

• Stay calm, friendly, and organized during lunch, dinner, and weekend rushes.

• Support teammates with opening, closing, restocking, and other front-of-house tasks as needed.

What we’re looking for

• At least 1 year of cashier, restaurant, or customer-service experience.

• Comfortable using a POS system and handling payments accurately.

• Clear communication, reliability, and a positive team-first attitude.

• Availability for weekday and weekend shifts, including mornings, afternoons, or evenings.

• Able to remain on your feet and move comfortably through a fast-paced shift.
