Job description

Looking for a self motivated, hard working, individual who is willing to learn a great trade in growing family run business. Offering paid time off , health insurance and a competitive 401k with company match.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Apprentice glaziers are tasked with a variety of hands-on and preparatory tasks on the job site:

Material Handling: Loading, unloading, and transporting heavy glass panels, mirrors, and metal framing to and from job sites.

Assisting Installation: Helping journeymen build, assemble, and install metal frameworks for doors, windows, skylights, storefronts, and curtain walls.

Tool Preparation: Using, cleaning, and maintaining trade-specific hand and power tools like glass cutters, suction cups, and cranes.

Sealing & Finishing: Applying weather stripping, glazing putty, and specialized sealants to ensure frames are watertight and secure.

Site Cleanup: Keeping work areas safe, sweeping debris, and removing old or broken glass during repairs.

Training and Education Requirements

Glass Properties: Learning about the physical properties of tempered, laminated, and insulated glass units.

Qualifications

To become a glazier apprentice, candidates usually must meet the following baseline qualifications:

Be at least 18 years old.

Possess a High School Diploma or GED.

Have physical stamina, balance, and the ability to lift 100 lbs. and heavy materials.

Possess a valid driver's license to drive to different job locations.
