Roman's

Roman's, the celebrated neighborhood Italian restaurant in Fort Greene, seeks a full time Line Cook with restaurant experience. This is a garde manger position that requires nighttime and weekend availability.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and set up all assigned stations with appropriate mise en place in advance of service. 
• Attend pre-shift meetings and put up testers according to set standards.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared according to both quality and timing standards.
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe workstation throughout service.
• Follow allergy protocols and modify dishes at the direction of the chefs. 
• Label, stock, and organize inventory.
• Break down stations fully. Clean and sanitize workstation prior to departing the shift. 

Successful candidates will: 

• Have 2+ years of professional cooking experience with excellent production skills
• Display keen attention to detail and spatial awareness
• Be reliable, focused, organized, communicative, and curious
• Have a receptive and charitable attitude toward constructive feedback
• Be interested in working collaboratively towards meeting the goals of the team and the business

While performing the duties of the job, a Line Cook is regularly required to stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
