About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Temporary Payroll Generalist to join our team during a maternity leave coverage period. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys ownership and accountability, and has strong experience across both payroll operations and human resources administration.


You will play a critical role in ensuring smooth day-to-day payroll processing and employee support across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing & Operations

Own and manage the full payroll process from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Process payroll and payroll-related reporting on a bi-weekly basis
  • Run payroll reports, including monthly bonus reporting and payroll audits
  • Conduct weekly timecard audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Manage PTO requests, approvals, and time off tracking
  • Develop and coordinate vacation coverage plans to maintain business continuity
  • Manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, internal transitions, and offboarding
  • Oversee onboarding within Paychex, including system setup, documentation, required signatures, and employee records
  • Coordinate benefits and insurance updates during employee transitions


You’re a Great Fit If You...

  • Have 3+ years of Payroll, HR Generalist, People Operations, or related experience
  • Have experience processing payroll and overseeing payroll operations end-to-end
  • Have a strong understanding of payroll compliance, employee documentation and administrative processes
  • Are highly detail-oriented, exceptionally organized, and able to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Are comfortable working independently, problem-solving, and owning processes
  • Have experience with Paychex (preferred)
  • Have experience in professional services, accounting, tax, or similar fast-paced environments is a plus
