Job description

Job Description Leap Recruitment Partners is proud to represent a premier leader in the North American property and casualty insurance industry. Our client is a highly respected national provider known for its commitment to safety, community, and operational excellence. We are currently seeking a strategic and people-focused Director of Risk Services to lead their regional risk mitigation efforts and drive impactful consulting strategies.

The Role As the Director of Risk Services, you will be the primary architect and executor of regional risk management strategies. This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for guiding a team of experts to deliver top-tier advisory, education, and technical consulting services. You will bridge the gap between high-level corporate goals and day-to-day operational excellence, ensuring that risk mitigation remains a core value for both the organization and its diverse clientele.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Assist in defining and deploying a regional vision for risk services that aligns with the broader corporate business strategy. Team Development: Oversee the full talent lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management, professional coaching, and succession planning for the regional risk team. Operational Management: Direct the creation of functional team plans, manage regional budgets, and prioritize annual initiatives based on their strategic value to the business.

Risk Mitigation & Consulting: Lead the execution of annual technical advice and training programs designed to help internal and external stakeholders minimize exposure. Market Intelligence: Monitor and analyze industry trends, competitor movements, and regulatory changes to identify emerging threats and opportunities within the risk landscape. Customer Advocacy: Foster a culture of safety by effectively communicating the organization's mission and ensuring all risk assessment plans are met or exceeded.

Qualifications Experience: A minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience, with a proven track record in a leadership or senior advisory capacity. Education: A university degree, college diploma, or an equivalent combination of industry-specific experience. Professional Designations: Holding a CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) or CRM (Canadian Risk Management) designation is considered a significant asset.

Technical Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of risk and insurance management, including deep knowledge of industry standards, safety codes, and regulatory requirements. Operational Readiness: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, a valid driver's license in good standing, and the ability to travel across the Canada/U.S. border without restrictions

Why Join the Team. Our client believes in a "people-first" philosophy, offering a comprehensive suite of benefits designed to support your professional growth and personal well-being: Flexible Work Environment: A balanced 50/50 hybrid model, allowing you to split your time between the office and your home. Mobility Support: Because this role involves travel, a company vehicle and all related expenses are provided.

Financial Security: Competitive salary packages including pension plans, RRSP contributions, and an employee share purchase program. Health & Wellness: Flexible health benefits available from day one, wellness rewards, and early leave days to help you recharge. Career Advancement: Robust support for continuous learning, including tuition assistance for CIP, FCIP, or CRM designations, alongside formal mentorship and leadership training.

Community Impact: Be part of an organization that gives back through donation matching and dedicated team volunteer days.
