Bar – Olive + Oak
Join the Heart of Our Hospitality Group!
Olive + Oak isn’t just a dining room with a bar—it’s a community hub where exceptional food, drink, and heartfelt service come together nightly. Since 2016, our James Beard–nominated team has welcomed guests for everything from burgers and a beer to oysters, rib-eyes, and reserve-list wines. If you thrive on crafting memorable moments—one perfectly shaken cocktail and genuine conversation at a time—we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Bring to the Bar
  • Pro Bartender Chops – 2 + years behind a high-volume, craft-focused bar; confident with classic builds, modern riffs, and thoughtful zero-proof creations.
  • Wine amp; Spirits Savvy – Comfortable guiding guests through our 500-label list and spirit selections; WSET/Cicerone certifications a plus, curiosity a must.
  • Show-Time Hospitality – Charisma, maturity, and the instinct to read the room—welcoming regulars back by name while making first-timers feel like regulars.
  • Team-First Mind-Set – You collaborate with servers, food runners, and the kitchen to keep service smooth and guests delighted.
  • Constantly Curious – Eager to taste, study, and perfect your craft in an environment that celebrates growth.
What You’ll Be Part Of
  • A Culture of Warmth amp; Excellence – We treat teammates and guests like family and never compromise on hospitality.
  • Season-Driven Creativity – Work with menus that change daily under Executive Chef Bonnie Moore, inspiring cocktail pairings that evolve with the seasons.
  • Community Connection – Olive + Oak champions local causes; your work helps us give back to Webster Groves and beyond.
  • Mentorship amp; Growth – Learn from industry-respected leaders and access educational tastings and seminars.
Why You’ll Love It Here
  • Supportive, tight-knit team with full-time or part-time scheduling (typical start 2:00–3:30 pm; wrap-up 10:00 pm–1:00 am).
  • Competitive hourly base + tips, dining discounts, wellness support, and opportunities for advancement within the O+O Hospitality Group.
  • A workplace where creativity, professionalism, and fun coexist every shift.

Key Technical Skills amp; Requirements
  • Mastery of classic recipe proportions, bar tool use, and draft system use and basic maintenance.
  • Ability to batch, prep, and manage service bar mise en place for a 150-seat dining room.
  • POS fluency (Toast experience a bonus) and money-handling accuracy.
  • Commitment to safe and responsible alcohol service.
  • Requires prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and maneuvering throughout bar and service areas.
Must be able to work in fast-paced, high-energy settings with varying temperatures and stress levels.
Heavy customer interaction and problem-solving required.
Availability on nights and weekends is essential.
