LA Kings & Reign Ice Crew Management

JOB SUMMARY

The Ice Crew consists of both the Hockey Development Team and the Promotional Team. The LA Kings are looking for the most outgoing, energetic, and charismatic Kings fans who can lead the crowd at games and attend events as hockey coaches and ambassadors.  Whether you want to be in the stands cheering with fans, shoveling on ice, coaching hockey clinics, or introducing the sport in the community, we want you to join the Ice Crew! Strong teamwork skills, communication, and reliability are key for this role. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Home Game Duties:

• Assist with on-ice/off-ice and in-arena contests, promotions, and activities (dance mats, t-shirt tosses, contests, prize giveaways, etc.)
• Assist with ice maintenance scraping during TV timeouts
• Assist with Pre and Post-Game Ice time logistics
• Aid with the set-up and breakdown of interactives at Fan Fests
• Provide excellent customer service and engagement to all fans and guests
• Assist stage managers with miscellaneous tasks
• Sell promotional items to benefit the Kings Care Foundation

Outside Appearance Duties:

• Act as brand ambassadors for the LA Kings organization at almost 400 outside events and appearances throughout the community such as charity functions, fan development events, promotional events, grassroots marketing events, etc.
• Assist on and off-ice at LA Kings Learn to Skate, Learn to Play, Ball Hockey, camps, and other community hockey events
• Greet fans, answer questions, participate in photo-ops
• Setup mobile marketing activations and operate Ice Crew vehicles
• Capture and create content that can be utilize on all digital platforms 

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY

The Ice Crew member possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skill and abilities:

• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
• Ability to move about frequently as needed during events/games
• Ability to work in various climates preferred
• Available to work home games, nights, and weekends
• Strong customer service skills required
• Ability to drive a truck and trailer recommended
• Ability to ice skate at an advanced level preferred

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: 

• High School Diploma or its equivalency

Experience:

• 0-2 years related work experience
• Skating experience is strongly recommended for the LA Kings Hockey Development Team and the Reign Ice Crew
• Skating experience is a plus for the LA Kings Promo Team
• Experience teaching and coaching hockey preferred
• Cheerleading, crowd leading, acting and/or dance experience is a plus
• Experience in photo and video content creation is a plus

Pay Scale: $20.00 - $21.00

Bonus: This position is not eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.

Benefits Part-time: This position may be eligible for benefits (ACA qualification).
