HR Benefits Manager

We’re partnering with a growing organization with multiple business entities and more than 1,000 employees to find a Benefits & HR Manager who can lead, optimize, and elevate the company’s total rewards and benefits programs.
This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex benefits challenges, and wants to help shape strategy while still staying connected to the employee experience.
You’ll oversee all aspects of employee benefits administration and strategy—including self-funded medical plans, 401(k), vendor management, compliance, open enrollment, employee communication, and ongoing program improvements. You’ll work closely with leadership, brokers, and external partners to ensure the organization remains competitive, compliant, and employee-focused.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead administration and strategy for all employee benefit programs including:
- Medical, dental, vision
- Self-funded health plans
- 401(k) and retirement programs
- Life, disability, voluntary benefits, and wellness initiatives
- Serve as the primary liaison with benefits brokers, carriers, TPAs, and vendors
- Analyze benefits utilization, trends, and costs to help drive strategic decision-making
- Partner with leadership on benefits planning, renewals, budgeting, and long-term strategy
- Manage and improve open enrollment processes and employee education efforts
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, and other applicable regulations
- Oversee day-to-day benefits administration, employee inquiries, escalations, and issue resolution
- Support audits, reporting, and vendor performance reviews
- Collaborate with payroll and HR teams to ensure accurate deductions and system integrations
- Recommend process improvements and enhancements to employee experience and operational efficiency
- Assist with broader HR initiatives and projects as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive HR and/or Benefits experience
- Strong experience managing self-funded insurance plans
- Hands-on experience with 401(k) administration and vendor coordination
- Knowledge of benefits compliance and related regulations
- Experience working with brokers and external benefit partners
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution
- Comfortable working across multiple entities/business units
- Excellent communication and employee relations skills
- HRIS and advanced Excel/reporting experience preferred
