Railside Golf Club is a landmark in the Southwest Grand Rapids area, combining the welcoming atmosphere of a small-town club with a full range of amenities and exceptional hospitality. Our property features an 18-hole golf course, driving range, swimming pool, full-service clubhouse, The Union Pavilion, and pro shop.

Position Summary

The Server is responsible for providing friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable service throughout each guest's dining experience. Servers are expected to anticipate guest needs, accurately take and deliver food and beverage orders, maintain a clean and organized service area, and work closely with the entire team to ensure an exceptional experience.

The ideal candidate is personable, professional, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide warm, professional, and attentive service to all members and guests.

  • Strive to exceed guest expectations and create memorable dining experiences.

  • Greet guests promptly and make genuine connections that encourage repeat business.

  • Be knowledgeable about all food and beverage menus, specials, ingredients, and service standards.

  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and communicate them clearly to the kitchen and bar.

  • Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive service throughout the entire dining experience.

  • Maintain clear, respectful, and effective communication with coworkers, supervisors, kitchen staff, and bartenders.

  • Check assigned sections and ensure all tables and service areas are properly prepared before service.

  • Set tables and maintain proper place settings according to restaurant standards.

  • Roll and fold silverware for lunch and dinner service.

  • Complete all opening, closing, and daily side work according to established checklists.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional dining environment throughout the shift.

  • Pre-bus and bus tables efficiently to maintain a clean dining room and support appropriate table turns.

  • Run food and assist fellow team members when needed.

  • Verify the accuracy of guest checks before presenting them.

  • Process cash and credit card transactions according to standard operating procedures.

  • Address guest questions or concerns professionally and involve management when necessary.

  • Follow all restaurant policies, procedures, and standards outlined in the employee handbook.

  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, teamwork, and a positive attitude throughout every shift.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • ServSafe Alcohol certification required or ability to obtain certification as required.

# Server – Availability Requirements
* Railside Golf Club's regular dining hours are **Tuesday–Saturday, 11:00 AM–10:00 PM, and Sunday, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM**.
* Must have **evening and weekend availability**.
* Must be available to work a variety of shifts within our operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
* Flexible availability is strongly preferred, particularly during our busiest periods and special events.
* Schedules may vary based on business volume, private events, member functions, and seasonal operations.
* Must be reliable and able to arrive on time and prepared for all scheduled shifts.
