Work Environment

You will be working from a virtual outpatient counseling center, interfacing directly with clients via telehealth platforms. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments and thorough evaluations to identify the needs and challenges of clients, establishing appropriate and personalized treatment plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions utilizing methodologies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy.
  • Engage in regular consultations with multidisciplinary teams, which may include psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals, ensuring a holistic approach to client care.
  • Maintain meticulous and up-to-date clinical records, ensuring compliance with both ethical guidelines and legal regulations pertaining to counseling practices.
  • Stay abreast of current research and advancements in mental health through participation in workshops and professional development opportunities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The client population served includes individuals facing a wide array of mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. As an LPC, you'll have the opportunity to work with diverse demographics, including individuals, couples, and families, adapting your therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each client.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in providing counseling services, ideally in a clinical or outpatient setting.
  • Strong knowledge of ethical guidelines and legal frameworks relevant to counseling practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems to ensure streamlined documentation and client data management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering rapport with clients from varying backgrounds.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
  • Specialization in areas such as trauma-informed care, substance abuse, family therapy, or couples counseling will be highly regarded.
  • Experience within integrated health settings or community mental health services is a plus.
  • Familiarity with telehealth practices and relevant technology for remote counseling is advantageous.
