Role Description This full-time, on-site Associate Attorney role is based in Great Falls, VA. The Associate Attorney will handle a range of landlord–tenant matters, including drafting and reviewing leases and legal documents, preparing pleadings and motions, and representing clients in court proceedings and administrative hearings. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, analyzing case law and statutes, and providing clear, practical legal advice to landlord clients. The role also involves negotiating settlements, collaborating with senior attorneys on complex cases, and maintaining accurate case files and documentation. The Associate Attorney will be expected to manage a caseload, meet deadlines, and communicate regularly with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, with demonstrated experience or coursework related to landlord–tenant and property law.
• Ability to provide clear, concise Legal Advice to clients in a practical, solutions-oriented manner.
• Proficiency in legal Research, including case law analysis, statutory interpretation, and drafting research memos.
• Effective Negotiation skills for resolving disputes, drafting settlement agreements, and advocating for client interests.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in DC, Maryland, or Virginia (or eligibility for admission).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong drafting skills for pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff, while exercising sound judgment and professional ethics.
• Prior experience in landlord–tenant, civil litigation, or related practice areas is preferred but not required.
