Job Title: Army Metering Program (AMP) Field Service Representative

Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD

Brown Technologies is currently seeking an Army Metering Program (AMP) Field Service Representative (FSR). Under limited direction, the FSR is responsible for the optimization of a customer's energy program's metering and control systems and for training Energy Specialists on those systems. The FSR works with Facilities and Maintenance Directors to address mechanical and control issues for buildings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide customer support and work with project engineers, other system engineers, and end-users to assist in developing cost-effective methods for an efficient Utility Controls design and system solution.
  • Work with essential/key team members to understand their systems requirements to ensure the correct IP infrastructure, points list, critical alarms, and scaling set points are integrated as designed.
  • Properly address TCP/IP networks and RS-485 communications across multiple protocols including BACnet, Lon, Modbus, and others.
  • Follow QA procedures to ensure quality control performed by others is properly implemented throughout projects.
  • Write detailed daily reports pertaining to jobsite milestones.
  • Perform inspections and testing of Utility Control Systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Coordinate project work internally within the department and externally with other departments to ensure all projects are completed on time.
  • Provide technical assistance with regard to daily operations, system upgrades, and preventative maintenance of Army AMP systems.
  • Resolve operational and technical deficiencies.
  • Monitor daily operations, ensuring system performance and data requirements meet specifications.
  • Identify, order, receive, and track parts.
  • Update, refine, maintain, and deliver training material.
  • May serve as a technical liaison between corporate departments, the government customer, vendors, and others.
  • May provide leadership to lower-level employees.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Utility Control Systems.
  • Knowledge of ICS, SCADA, BMS, PLC, and Metering systems and how they operate.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams, control diagrams, prints, building operations, and electrical theory.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve onsite issues.
  • Ability to act independently and to coordinate the work of other employees and contractors on a customer site.
  • Ability to clearly present and communicate technical approaches and findings.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, detail oriented, with strong organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and diligent adherence to deadlines and deliverables.
  • Experience with MS Office, including Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel to CONUS and/or OCONUS customer sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
  • Field service experience, preferably with the following programs/software: Metasys, Niagara, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Tridium, Schneider Electric (PowerLogic/StruxureWare), Siemens Apogee, Ignition by Inductive Automation, Eaton Networks, Field Servers, JACE Controllers, and BACnet.
  • Ability to integrate sensors and peripheral devices.
  • Ability to program points and tags in the HMI.
  • Ability to update firmware on devices.
