About REFRESH'D
REFRESH'D is a privately owned, internally funded startup specializing in freeze-dried foods for the general market. The company pairs startup energy with a proven track record: our founding team built one of Utah's most successful food brands. Harvest Right, the Salt Lake City company that pioneered home freeze-drying in 2011, is a founding partner.
Position summary
This is a hands-on, high-ownership design role — the first in-house designer at REFRESH'D. Working closely with marketing leadership and our brand foundations, the Graphic Designer will own day-to-day creative output across packaging, digital, social, retail, and print. This role is ideal for a designer early in their career who wants end-to-end ownership of a brand's visual world rather than a narrow slice of one.
Key responsibilities
- Brand execution. Apply and extend established brand guidelines (typography, color, illustration, and voice) consistently across every consumer touchpoint.
- Packaging and print. Design and produce print-ready artwork for packaging, inserts, cards, stickers, signage, trade materials, and promotional items, including dielines and vendor-ready files.
- Digital and ecommerce. Create graphics for the DTC website, email campaigns, and digital ads, including product imagery support, banners, and landing-page assets.
- Social content. Design and adapt content for social channels, including post graphics, story templates, and short-form video support.
- Photography and asset management. Support product photo shoots, perform retouching and color correction, and maintain an organized library of brand assets, templates, and final files.
- Production speed. Deliver accurate, on-brand work quickly across many small projects while managing feedback, revisions, and deadlines.
- Vendor coordination. Prepare files for and communicate with printers, packaging vendors, and promotional-product suppliers to verify specifications, proofs, and quality.
- Cross-functional support. Partner with Marketing, Sales, Operations, and R&D on presentations, sell sheets, internal documents, and special projects.
Qualifications
- Degree or formal training in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and professional experience. Strong new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong typography, layout, color, and brand-system thinking. Consumer products, food, or packaging work is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Experience with Figma, Canva, and basic motion or video editing tools is a plus.
- Working knowledge of print production, including dielines, bleeds, color modes, and preparing files for vendors, or a demonstrated ability to learn it quickly.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a startup environment.
- Ability to take direction, incorporate feedback constructively, and increasingly own projects end to end.
What success looks like
- Creative output across packaging, digital, social, and print is consistent, on-brand, and delivered on time.
- Vendor-ready files are accurate the first time, with clean specifications and organized source files.
- The brand's visual quality is maintained and strengthened as the company grows across channels and retail.
Working and physical requirements
- Ability to work in office and studio environments, with occasional time in kitchen, warehouse, or production settings for photography and content needs.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Schedule flexibility for product launches, photo shoots, and urgent creative deadlines.
