JOB SUMMARY

Supervised by the Facility Coordinator and Offshore Operations Manager, the Supervisor interacts with the RCS staff on a daily basis. Supervisors confirm the ability to clean tanks and containers utilized in RCS operations, including all varieties of liquid mud and dry bulk tanks, supporting both Dockside and Offshore operations. This position must complete tasks on time while demonstrating the technical knowledge required to achieve RCS tank cleaning responsibilities. This job description is a brief description of the job function. The Supervisor is not limited to the job duties listed below and may be asked from time to time to perform other miscellaneous job duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

A. Performs non-tank cleaning duties such as property and equipment maintenance.

B. Preserves the confidentiality of RCS intellectual property and methods.

C. Exhibits a high level of quality of work through accuracy and thoroughness.

D. Demonstrates effective planning and organization by managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.

E. Comprehends and is able to demonstrate the technical knowledge required to achieve RCS tank cleaning operational responsibilities.

F. Demonstrates ability to rig up and rig down RCS cleaning machinery/equipment safely and efficiently.

G. Confirms ability to clean tanks and containers utilized in RCS operations.

H. Understands the necessity and shows ability to clean and maintain RCS equipment throughout all aspects of operations.

I. Verifies fall protection competence through certification and practice.

J. Comprehends and verifies the ability to perform confined space entry and rescue.

K. Comprehends and adheres to all federal and companywide safety/security requirements and procedures on a consistent basis.

L. Understands, identifies and mitigates hazards.

M. Reports any potentially unsafe conditions.

N. Performs administrative and office support activities.

O. Properly complete all paperwork associated with RCS (including, but not limited to, confined space permits, JSEAs, Job logs, Lock Out-Tag Out Reports, run notes and rescue plans) in a timely manner, with a focus on thoroughness and accuracy.

P. Delegates necessary tasks to crew members while optimizing crew utilization.

Q. Ensures all crew members are on task through duration of their shift, and redirects off-task behavior as necessary.

R. Recommends crew members to superiors for disciplinary action as needed.

S. Ensures Technicians are performing the job functions required by the Technician job description, and inform management when required functions are not performed.

Requirements:

SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A. Demonstrates professional communication skills during interaction with co-workers when communicating in person, by telephone or email.

I. High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year experience of tank cleaning with

proven success as a cleaning technician.

J. Six (6) months previous experience with RCS.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

A. Lifting: Lift 60 lbs. from floor to knuckle, two handed X 2.

B. Lifting: Lift 30 lbs. from floor to waist level, two handed X 2.

C. Lifting: Lift 45 lbs. from floor to shoulder level, two handed X 2.

D. Lifting: Lift 45 lbs. from floor to crown level, two handed X 2.

E. Carrying: Carry 30 lbs. with two hands for 30 feet X 2, self-paced. Allow 30 second rest period between carrying tests.

F. Pushing: Push horizontally with two hands between waists to chest level, self-selected with a peak force of 100 lbs.

G. Pulling: Pull horizontally with two hands between waist to chest level, self-selected with a peak force of 60 lbs.

H. Standing and Walking: Must be qualitatively determined to be able to stand and walk with normal balance.

I. Stooping and Twisting: From standing, perform alternate toe touches X 10 to each side. Employee should be able to reach toward his/her toes on opposite side as far as possible but actual touching of toes not required, self-paced but continuous.

J. Kneeling: From the standing position, kneel on one knee, return to full standing, and then kneel on the opposite knee. Repeat kneeling X 10 each knee, self-paced but continuous.

K. Squatting: From the standing position, lower body into a functional squat position and then return to standing. Repeat X 10, self-paced but continuous.

L. Climbing Stairs: Climb up and down 12 steps (per flight) X 10, or climb up and down a total of 240 steps, self-paced, but allow a 30 second rest period after each set of 40 steps.

M. Climbing and Carrying: Climb up and down 12 steps (per flight) X 2 for a total of 24 steps while carrying 30 lbs. in one hand. Use one hand on the railing for safety and the other hand to carry 30 lbs. self-paced but continuous.

N. Climbing Ladder: Climb up and down a slanted ladder with 10 rungs/steps X 10, or climb up and down a total of 100 rungs/steps, self-paced but allow a 30 second rest period after climbing up and down each set of 20 rungs/steps.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

A. HSE Responsibilities

  • Ensure HSE policies are adhered to by everyone on the facility, including yourself, superiors, subordinates, guests, and third-party workers. Correct issues with crew members immediately. Use Stop Work Authority when necessary.

  • Elevate major issues / HSE incidents / injuries to management immediately.
  • Participate in incident investigations when necessary.
  • Take all necessary precautions and use proactive planning to prevent spills in all operations.
  • Participate in documentation and clean-up of any spills on the facility when necessary.
  • Notify Superintendents of any issues with condition of or certifications on equipment.
  • Ensure crew members use HSE equipment properly. Correct when necessary.
  • Actively promote participation in BBS program.

B. Operational Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all operations are performed in accordance with company approved SOPs.
  • Properly execute plan determined by Superintendents to complete job efficiently and incident-free.
  • Delegate specific tasks to crew members to carry out operations specified by Superintendents.
  • Ensure crew members understand and properly perform delegated tasks in accordance with SOPs and HSE policies.
  • Provide necessary guidance and feedback to crew members on tank cleaning jobs.
  • Monitor work performance and make corrections as needed.
  • With guidance from Superintendents, execute solutions to problems as they arise to minimize negative impact on the job.
  • Execute plan provided by Superintendent to ensure proper protocols are followed regarding segregation of waste classifications. Ensure crew members understand and follow this plan.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any minor maintenance issues as needed.
  • Report any necessary maintenance to Superintendents.

C. Personnel Management Responsibilities

  • Respect and honor the chain of command.
  • Prioritize and assign necessary tasks to crew members.
  • Inform Superintendents of any discrepancies in the payroll system as soon as possible.
  • Monitor punctuality of crew members. Refer for disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Enforce uniform expectations, PPE requirements, and cell phone policy. Refer for disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Monitor crew members to ensure they are on task. Correct as necessary.
  • Conduct performance counseling with direct reports (every hitch).
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews with direct reports.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews with direct reports.
  • Perform documented disciplinary actions on direct reports as needed in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure direct reports are fulfilling assigned responsibilities. Address as needed through performance counseling or disciplinary action.
