Position Summary

R amp; F Metals, Inc. is seeking a dependable Aluminum Railing Grinder to join our fabrication team. This position is responsible for grinding, scraping, sanding, and finishing aluminum railings and related components to prepare them for final inspection, finishing, and installation.

The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, reliable, attentive to detail, and comfortable working with hand and power tools in a fabrication shop.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Grind and smooth welds on aluminum railings and components.
• Scrape, sand, deburr, and remove sharp edges or surface imperfections.
• Prepare aluminum products for powder coating, painting, or other finishes.
• Inspect finished work for rough areas, scratches, defects, and incomplete weld cleanup.
• Use grinders, sanders, scrapers, files, and other hand and power tools safely.
• Handle materials carefully to prevent scratches, dents, or other damage.
• Follow drawings, work instructions, and directions from supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform routine inspections of tools and equipment.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all company safety procedures.
• Assist with other shop and material-handling duties as assigned.

• Ability to safely operate grinders, sanders, and other power tools.
• Ability to identify and correct surface imperfections.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand movements.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to work around dust, noise, sparks, and moving shop equipment.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and respiratory protection when required.

Schedule

Full-time schedule. Overtime may be required depending on workload and production needs.
