What You'll DoTo ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed, the preschool teacher will coordinate and implement educational curriculum, develop classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards, and lead by example to encourage teaching team success.
- Develop classroom activities that foster social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.
- Lead by example; model and coach teaching team to ensure success.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents to keep them informed of their child's progress.
- Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities and safety standards.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met to maintain a healthy and secure classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate records, forms, and files to ensure seamless communication and operational activities.
- Plan individual and group activities to actively engage children and encourage learning.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom to ensure a safe and stimulating environment.
- Develop a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements- Must clear full background check.
- Physical requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, stand for long periods of time, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
- A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience.
- Preschool teaching credential such as a CDA, TCC in ECE, or higher.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
