Pay Range: $20-25/hr

Prodrive Technologies is a leading provider of high-quality PCB manufacturing and assembly services. Our Surface Mount Technology (SMT) department plays a vital role in delivering reliable electronic assemblies that power industries such as medical devices, clean energy, and automotive technology.

We’re seeking a skilled SMT Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll handle component preparation, machine setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting/maintenance of state-of-the-art SMT equipment. You’ll help ensure PCBA assemblies are produced efficiently, on schedule, and to IPC and quality standards.

We’re looking for a motivated self-starter who enjoys hands-on technical work, pays close attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and verify components, load feeders, and stage materials
  • Set up and operate SMT equipment (screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, inspection systems) efficiently and accurately
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
  • Follow all operating procedures and adhere to IPC and quality standards
  • Escalate equipment or process issues to the Team Lead as needed
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and report to the Production Team Leader
  • Cross-train on equipment and processes to promote team flexibility

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Strong attention to detail, accountability, and hand-eye coordination
  • Comfortable using computers for daily production tasks
  • Enjoys hands-on work with tools, machinery, and equipment
  • Able to follow instructions accurately in a fast-paced production setting
  • Strong communication skills (English); eager to learn and take initiative

Preferred Skills

  • Experience operating SMT machinery, production lines, or inspection equipment (AOI, X-ray)
  • Prior SMT or fast-paced manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with MES systems, 5S principles, and ESD-safe work environments
  • Soldering or rework experience (SMT/through-hole; IPC/J-STD certification a plus)
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards
