Site Director (Strathmore)

Location: Strathmore, CA, 93267

Position Summary

The Site Director oversees the ProYouth Expanded Learning Program at an elementary, middle, or high school site. The program is intended to encourage a culture of learning by providing students with the knowledge, skills, and resources for academic and personal success. Programming may occur inside or outside of the classroom during expanded learning hours.

A Site Director is responsible for the planning, implementation, and oversight of programming including the supervision of program staff who work directly with students. Under supervision from the Area Program Manager, a Site Director trains and evaluates staff, and works closely with school administration, faculty, parents, and students to ensure that programming meets the needs of the school and its students as well as the policies of the California and/or Federal Department of Education.

Primary Role and Responsibilities
  • Create a physically and emotionally safe environment for student learning to take place
  • Establish clear, consistent expectations for behavior and positive discipline
  • Ensure that every student feels known, accepted, valued and respected; communicating in ways that build and maintain a high level of trust
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with ProYouth partners that support the success of our students
  • Support and supervise site staff to work effectively and efficiently
  • Assist with timely completion of qualitative and quantitative data needed for compliance
  • Address issues, concerns, challenges, and reports to the Area Program Manager in a timely manner
  • Maintain a solution-based focus when facing challenges
  • Complete responsibilities accurately and on time
  • Hold everyone, including yourself, accountable for their actions
  • Comply with ProYouth Employee Handbook and other Policies and Procedures
  • Oversee CACFP student snack program
  • Complete professional staff appraisals within established timeframes
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope and range of knowledge base and training
Academic Support
  • Implement established curriculum and monitor continued application through Progress Advisor
  • Guide and mentor Program Leaders to keep students fully engaged with assigned curriculum
  • Develop students’ written and verbal communication skills through the assigned curriculum
  • Administer pre/post assessments including timely submittal of results
  • Support the objective of Leadership Development with students through the assigned curriculum

  • Administrative responsibilities will be completed accurately, completely and on time

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent AND
    • 48 completed College Units OR
    • NCLB Paraprofessional Certification
  • A minimum of two years’ experience working with youth is desirable
General Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Must pass a DOJ/FBI background check
  • Must receive TB clearance
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening
  • A valid California Driver’s License
  • Evidence of adequate auto insurance coverage is required. You must be listed as an insured driver.
