Join Our Team as a Blend Plant Operator (B-Operator) at Prime Conduit, Inc.


At Prime Conduit, Inc., we pride ourselves on manufacturing superior conduit products for the electrical, telecommunications, and utility markets. Located in Woodland, we are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Blend Plant Operator (B-Operator) in our manufacturing facility. This role is integral to the operation of equipment and creation of quality conduit products that serve various industries.


This role requires similar skills as a cement plant's blend machine operator.

Interview consists of taking a four-part test (~2hours)

Workday schedule is a 12-hour shift with alternating 2 days on/ 2 days off- 3 days on/ 3 days off. 12-hour workdays will receive 8 hours at regular rate and 4 hours at Over Time rates

Role Overview


The Blend Plant Operator (B-Operator) is responsible for operating the blend plant equipment in our dynamic manufacturing facility. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth production of our durable and reliable conduit products. Your expertise will drive our mission to exceed industry standards through effective and efficient production processes.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Unload bulk railcars and bulk trucks.
  • Keep additive hoppers and silos supplied with raw material.
  • Read silos on a daily basis.
  • Continually check all lines and feeders for leaks, make sure they remain in proper working condition.
  • Know all raw material and compound codes.
  • Assist in the inventory and placement of incoming raw materials.
  • Responsible for the care and storage of material and equipment used for blending and handling.
  • Complete railcar inspection in accordance with Quality Control guidelines and procedure manual.
  • Be able to operate forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Assist Supervisors and Leadman when necessary.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of blend area at all times.
  • Clean up hazardous materials using appropriate methods and placing into appropriate disposal containers
  • Wear required safety equipment at all times.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as deemed necessary. Any and all duties as outlined and tasks/duties requested by the immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance, work and safety record.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of using computer application systems related to blend machine operations.
  • Wear and maintain in good condition all personal safety devices required and work in a safe and efficient manner with relation to machinery and co-workers at all times.
  • Be aware of safe work method and working conditions. Do everything possible to prevent personal injury and injury to others.
  • Ability to handle materials and equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to assess products for Quality Compliance.
  • Ability to learn, apply and demonstrate Standard Operating Procedures required for position.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Must be able to read, speak and understand verbal and written direction in English for safety purposes.
  • Have the physical ability and dexterity to climb the silos and the blend tower and the ability to work in close quarters.
  • Ability to adhere to company policies and rules.
  • Ability to safely operate Forklift and able to obtain and maintain Forklift License.

Physical Requirements


  • Must wear and maintain in good condition required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, reach, lift, push, pull or carry weight up to fifty (50) pounds for prolonged periods of time during assigned work shift. Manual dexterity as needed to operate machinery and equipment and complete assigned tasks.
  • Visual and audible acuity to respond and determine discrepancies in tools and equipment and perform assignments.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, moving mechanical parts and vibrations associated with plant operations.
  • Must have physical ability and dexterity, coordination and stamina to perform required job duties.

Education and Experience


High School and/or GED required.

Forklift Operator.
