Looking for Experienced Café Cook / Sandwich Maker – Daytime Hours – $16–$20/hr

Press & Grind Café, a locally owned coffee house and juice bar in Fort Lauderdale, is looking for experienced, dependable kitchen professionals to join our team at our Victoria Park location.

We are a busy, high-volume café serving made-to-order sandwiches, wraps and salads alongside fresh-pressed juices, smoothies and specialty coffee.

A Kitchen Job Without the Late Nights - This isn't your typical restaurant kitchen.

No fryers. No open flames. No late-night shifts.

Our cafés close at 5:00 PM every day, and our kitchen is kept at a comfortable 75 degrees.

You'll work in a clean, organized café kitchen preparing fresh sandwiches, wraps and salads—but don't mistake simple equipment for a slow environment. We are a high-volume café and we move quickly.

We're looking for experienced people who can keep up while maintaining quality, consistency and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Prepare made-to-order sandwiches, wraps and salads quickly and accurately
• Complete daily food preparation and maintain properly stocked stations
• Follow established recipes, portions and presentation standards
• Maintain freshness, quality and proper handling of ingredients
• Keep kitchen and prep areas exceptionally clean and organized
• Restock and prepare your station for peak service periods
• Work together with café and kitchen team members during high-volume periods
• Help create a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest

Experience & Qualifications (Previous restaurant kitchen experience is required).

Ideal candidates will have:

• Min 2 years of experience as a line cook, prep cook, sandwich maker or similar kitchen position
• Strong basic kitchen and food-preparation skills
• Ability to follow recipes and portion standards
• Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality
• Dependability and punctuality
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Food Handler or ServSafe certification is a plus

Pay & Perks

Experienced kitchen team members earn $17–$21 per hour, depending on experience & qualifications.

Available Shifts

Our cafés open at 7:00 AM and close at 5:00 PM every day.

Typical shift schedules :

Opener : 6:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Closer : 11:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Openers must be able to reliably arrive by 6:30 AM, . . . And because we close at 5:00 PM, our closing team is typically finished and heading home well before the late-night restaurant crowd.
