Steel Erection Sales Estimator

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Steel Erection Sales Estimator to join our team in our Porter office. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in steel erection, steel estimating, and steel sales. This role requires a highly organized professional who can develop customer relationships, prepare accurate project estimates, and coordinate steel erection opportunities from bid stage through project award.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel erection projects
• Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents
• Perform quantity take-offs and labor/material cost analysis
• Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, fabricators, and customers
• Generate new business opportunities and assist with sales growth
• Prepare and submit bid proposals within deadlines
• Coordinate with project managers, field crews, and vendors during preconstruction
• Attend job walks, pre-bid meetings, and customer meetings as needed
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms with clients and subcontractors
• Track bid opportunities and maintain estimating records
• Provide technical knowledge related to steel erection methods and project execution

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in:
• • Steel Erection
  • Steel Estimating
  • Steel Sales
• Strong understanding of structural steel drawings and specifications
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to read blueprints and perform material/labor take-offs
• Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Knowledge of construction safety standards and erection practices
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with commercial and industrial steel projects
• Knowledge of fabrication and erection sequencing
• Existing industry relationships in the steel construction market
