Job description

Join our team:

Are you a problem solver with mechanical aptitude? Are you a hardworking individual who loves to get hands-on? Poly-Flow is looking for a Machine Maintenance Assistant to join our Machine Maintenance team.

We are seeking an individual who is looking to learn and grow with the company, with plenty of opportunities for advancement for the right person. Ideally, you are mechanically inclined with an interest in troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing machinery. You may be working as part of a team, or with little-to-no supervision depending on the situation. You will be assisting with machine maintenance on Extrusion, Braiding, Pullers, and other manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting, replacing, or repairing electrical motors, centrifugal pumps, vacuum pumps, and belts. This is an on-site role with a full-time schedule for Monday-Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm.

What you will do:

·         Perform maintenance on manufacturing machinery, including extrusion, braiding, and pulling equipment

·         Operate with a high level of mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing electrical motors, centrifugal pumps, vacuum pumps, and belt

·         Uses a forklift to obtain and/or store production related materials as needed

·         Reads and interprets mechanical and electrical blue prints, tape measures, and venire calipers

·         Maintain organization and stock management

·         Follow all safety requirements, wear PPE, inspection, and safe lifting procedures

·         Maintain a clean and safe work environment

·         Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

·         Strong problem solving skills, capable of resolving problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information, and applying common sense understanding

·         Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

·         Ability to speak clearing and persuasively in positive or negative situations

·         Ability to read and interpret documentation, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

·         Mathematical skills, ability to use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

·         Quality Management: looks for ways to improve and promote quality, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness

·         Strong organizational and planning ability, able to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently, developing realistic action plans

·         Ability to adapt to, and respond to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, and dealing with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events

·         Must have a valid Oregon or Washington Drivers License, and proof of insurance

·         Ability to read, write, and speak English

·         Preferred to have 2-3 years’ experience in maintenance

·         Preferred to have 1-2 years’ experience in welding

·         Basic electrical background is a plus

·         Forklift operator certification highly desirable

·         High school diploma, or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

·         Frequent standing, bending, lifting, moving, reaching, use of hands and fingers to feel, twist, turn, and pull greater than 35 pounds of force

·         Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds

·         Use of vision in specific scenarios, including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, including depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

·         Ability to work in a warehouse environment with changes in temperature, heat, noise, and metal materials

·         If hired, you will be required to undergo a background check and urinalysis test. We do NOT screen for Marijuana/THC, and this does not effective your possibility of employment.
