Job description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage practice operations teams, ensuring effective support for attorneys, practice groups, and clients.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies, staffing plans, and service standards aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee workforce planning, workflow distribution, resource allocation, and coverage to meet service and cost goals.
  • Manage performance, employee development, evaluations, compensation recommendations, and employee relations matters.
  • Partner with attorneys, leadership, HR, and cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with administrative policies, timekeeping, attendance, payroll, and related operational processes.
  • Oversee recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development for practice operations staff.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and expenses, including overtime, temporary staffing, and training costs.
  • Foster a collaborative, client-focused culture while identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, service delivery, and team performance.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of management or supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience within a law firm or professional services environment preferred; multi-office management experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills in a client service-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management abilities across all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, drive projects independently, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and address operational challenges.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain professionalism in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Proficient with workplace technology and systems to improve efficiency, collaboration, and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
