Optometrist Job Duties & Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented Part-Time Optometrist to join our team! The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care, enjoys connecting with patients, and is committed to providing thorough, compassionate, and personalized eye care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations 
  • Diagnose, manage, and assist in the treatment of ocular conditions 
  • Prescribe corrective lenses and recommend appropriate vision solutions 
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients 
  • Educate patients on eye health, treatment options, and preventative care 
  • Develop personalized treatment plans and maintain accurate patient records 
  • Manage urgent eye care needs and emergencies when appropriate 
  • Collaborate with opticians and staff to ensure an exceptional patient experience 
Optometrist Requirements & Qualifications
  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited program 
  • Active Illinois optometry license 
  • Strong clinical skills and attention to detail 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with patients of all ages 
  • Professional, ethical, and patient-centered approach 
  • Commitment to providing high-quality vision care
