Pathways to Home has an opening for a full-time Parent Educator. This is part of the Every Child Succeeds program and works with families in their homes to provide child development information and promote positive parenting from prenatal up to 5 years old.
Position Responsibilities:
- Maintain a caseload of 20-25 families. Provide support and education regarding fetal, infant and toddler development, and parenting skills using a research-based model and curriculum.
- Develop and implement individualized and developmentally appropriate plans for each child and family that meets program standards and the family’s needs. This includes assessing the family’s overall strengths and needs, while making appropriate community referrals as necessary.
- Complete assessments and screenings to aid in working with the families and identifying their strengths/needs.
- Complete official case notes/data entry and documentation.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child & Family Studies, Human Services, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or closely related field preferred.
- A valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurable driving record
- Experience in working with or providing services to children and families *Community/ In home experience a plus.*
- An ability to establish trusting relationships
- Acceptance of individual differences
- Experience and humility to work with culturally diverse families
- Knowledge of infant and child development
- Willing to engage in building reflective capacity (e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing the value of supervision, etc.)
- A high degree of initiative and independent judgement.
- An ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills. Must be self-motivated, proactive, and solution focused. Must be able to consistently meet deadlines.
- An ability to work independently and create your own schedule- utilizing flexible working hours.
Job Type: Full-time or Part-Time available (28 hrs per week)
Schedule:
- Flexible; but must be available 1-2 evenings per week to meet the needs of clients who have daytime commitments.
License/Certification:
- Driver's License Required
- Must pass state and federal background check
