Job description

Field Service Technician

Peak+ Energy · Salt Lake City, UT · Full-Time

★ $1,000 Signing Bonus · Full Benefits · Guaranteed 40 hrs/week ★

No HVAC license required. We will train you.

Peak+ makes a proprietary system that dramatically cuts energy costs for commercial buildings — data centers, hospitals, hotels, and big-box retailers. Our technology pre-cools the air entering HVAC condensers using evaporative cooling, and we're growing fast.

We're looking for a reliable, mechanically minded Field Service Technician to join our SLC-based team. This is a location based field service role. Think less "HVAC installer" and more "the person our commercial clients count on to keep things running perfectly." You'll be given full training on our system, a clear schedule, and a team that backs you up.

If you're someone who shows up on time, works well independently, is comfortable on rooftops and job sites, and takes pride in doing things right we want to talk to you.

What You'll Do

  • Travel to commercial client sites daily (data centers, hotels, hospitals) on a set schedule
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on the Peak+ system / following clear, documented processes
  • Inspect equipment for effectiveness and safety; identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Keep accurate records of appointments, inventory, and equipment
  • Represent Peak+ professionally with customers / you're the face they see
  • Coordinate with and occasionally manage additional field technicians as the team grows

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 1–3 years of experience in any mechanical, field service, or maintenance role (HVAC, irrigation, refrigeration, facilities, plumbing, fire suppression, etc.)
  • Comfortable working outdoors and on rooftops of commercial buildings — most of the work is outside
  • Valid driver's license; must pass background check and drug screening
  • Must reside in the Salt Lake City metro area
  • Punctual and dependable — work often begins at 6:00am to beat the heat
  • Basic computer skills: scheduling software, email, Teams
  • Able to carry equipment to and from job sites including rooftops; able to ascend/descend ladders and stairs
  • Reliable transportation and able to transport a moderate amount of building supplies as required (pumps, pipes, tools, etc.)

Strongly preferred:

  • Experience with water systems, plumbing, or irrigation (soldering, pumps, water flow)
  • Any background in HVAC maintenance, refrigeration, or building systems
  • Route-based or multi-site field service experience
  • Comfortable working independently with little supervision
  • Strong communicator — written and verbal

What We Offer

  • $1,000 signing bonus
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week — no slow seasons, no dry spells
  • Paid training — two weeks onsite in Memphis, TN and Phoenix, AZ to master the Peak+ system
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with matching
  • Paid time off
  • 50% travel (SLC-based, with periodic travel to assist other markets)
  • Start date target: on or before July 15, 2026

About Peak+

Peak+ manufactures an aftermarket HVAC retrofit system that dramatically improves the energy efficiency of commercial air conditioning and refrigeration. By using evaporative cooling — spraying water onto filter media on the outside of condenser coils — the Peak+ system lowers incoming air temperature so HVAC units work as if it's cooler outside than it actually is.

The system attaches non-invasively to virtually any air-cooled unit and includes real-time cloud-based monitoring, fault detection, and controls. We have hundreds of successful installations across the U.S. — in data centers, hospitals, hotels, and commercial and industrial buildings.

Peak+ is an equal opportunity employer. We hire for attitude, reliability, and aptitude — not credentials.

Company Description

About Peak+

Peak+ manufactures the Peak+® System, a proprietary aftermarket HVAC retrofit that significantly improves the energy efficiency of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The company is based in Memphis, TN. The Peak+ System attaches non-invasively to virtually any air-cooled HVAC unit, and using the principle of evaporative cooling, improves efficiency, reduces peak demand, and lowers maintenance costs. Peak+ also provides a performance monitoring system, which enables real-time, cloud-based measurement and verification, controls, and fault detection and diagnostics.

Solving our Customers' Problems: More and more companies are dedicating time and resources to reducing energy consumption and are looking for cost-effective energy efficiency technologies. The Peak+ System is the perfect solution, creating energy savings and peak demand energy reduction. By spraying water onto a filter media on the outside of the condenser coils, the Peak+ System lowers the incoming air temperature, allowing the air conditioning or refrigeration system to operate as though it is cooler outside than it actually is. This media also filters dust from the condenser coils.

Target Market: The Peak+ System works with almost any air-cooled air conditioning or refrigeration system and is cost-effective in almost all commercial / industrial applications. Peak+ has hundreds of successful installations throughout the U.S. on data centers, hospitals, hotels, big-box refrigeration systems, and commercial / industrial buildings.
