Job Overview

P&R Transports LLC is seeking a dependable and professional Hot Shot Truck Driver to transport freight safely and efficiently. A Commercial Driver’s License is preferred but not required. Candidates should have experience operating pickup trucks, commercial vehicles, towing trailers, or transporting freight.

The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, punctual, comfortable traveling, and capable of communicating professionally with dispatchers, brokers, shippers, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a heavy-duty pickup truck and flatbed or gooseneck trailer
• Pick up and deliver freight within scheduled delivery windows
• Properly secure, inspect, and protect all cargo
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and trailer inspections
• Maintain accurate driver logs, fuel receipts, bills of lading, and delivery paperwork
• Communicate regularly with dispatch regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, and route changes
• Follow all applicable DOT, FMCSA, traffic, and safety regulations
• Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of company equipment
• Assist with loading and unloading when required
• Represent the company professionally at all times

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
• CDL preferred, but not required
• Previous experience driving trucks, towing trailers, or transporting freight preferred
• Must be comfortable operating a heavy-duty pickup truck with a gooseneck or flatbed trailer
• Ability to safely secure freight using straps, chains, binders, and tarps
• Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle record review, and drug screening
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• Willingness to travel and remain on the road overnight when required
• Must meet all applicable DOT medical and driver qualification requirements

Schedule

This position may include regional and over-the-road travel. Drivers must be available for early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight trips, and schedule changes based on freight availability.
