Job description

Ox & Olive, a new high-end steakhouse located in the heart of Georgetown, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Pastry Cook to join our opening team. A concept by Hive Hospitality, Ox & Olive is dedicated to showcasing unique, single-origin cuts of beef sourced globally, paired with an exceptional dining experience.


The Pastry Cook will be responsible for executing daily pastry station duties, ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency are met, with a particular focus on preparing and plating all dessert and baked goods for the menu.


Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and Execution: Execute the precise handling, preparation, and execution of all dessert items, baked goods, and confectionaries, including strict adherence to recipes and plating specifications. (Adapted from)
  • Quality & Consistency: Maintain rigorous control over all dessert portions, presentation, and preparation techniques to uphold the restaurant’s high standards.
  • Station Management: Efficiently prepare, set up, and maintain a clean, organized, and stocked pastry station for all service periods.
  • Kitchen Support: Adhere to all guidelines for sanitation control, safety standards, and inventory best practices, assisting the culinary leadership team as directed.
  • Service Execution: Work efficiently on the line during service and maintain clear communication with the back and front of house teams to ensure timely and accurate dish delivery.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or Baker in a fine dining or high-volume environment. (Adapted from)
