Job description

Summary:

The Behavioral Care Partner assumes the caretaker role for psychiatric patients (and non-psychiatric patients when necessary) either on psychiatric or non-psychiatric units such as medical/surgical floors, PICU, or the Emergency Department. Behavioral Care Partners assist children with activities of daily living, maintain a safe environment, and help manage any harmful behaviors while delivering competent and skilled care to patients and families under the supervision of RN/LVN. This position will deliver care with a team-oriented approach with an emphasis on good customer relations.

Hours: 18:30 - 07:00 2 days per week
Education/Experience:

  • High school Diploma.

  • Requires one of the following: (1) Completion of a Certified Nurse Assistant course. Or (2) Completion of Medical Assistant course or comparable health care provider program with course work in patient assessment/vital signs, growth, and development. Or (3) Completion of first clinical semester in an accredited nursing program.

  • Experience with inpatient psychiatry or partial hospital psychiatric treatment is preferred.

  • Pediatric experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

  • BLS must be completed within 60 days of start date.

  • CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Childrens Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date.
