Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Self Serve Gas Bar Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to customers while ensuring the smooth operation of the gas bar. You will assist customers with their fueling needs, promote additional products and services, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. 


Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with self-service fuel pumps.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of products available at the gas bar, including convenience items and automotive supplies.
  • Conduct product demos to enhance customer understanding and encourage sales.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and processing credit card payments through POS systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the gas bar area, ensuring all merchandise is well-stocked and displayed effectively.
  • Utilize upselling techniques to promote additional products to customers during their visit.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience for all patrons.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills while interacting with customers both in-person and over the phone.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently during shifts


Job Requirements:

  • Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including proper phone etiquette.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Basic math skills and attention to details.
  • Familiarity with merchandising principles and effective product displays is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain an orderly work environment.
  • Proven customer service skills with a focus on building rapport with customers.
