Job description

The Ocean State Disaster Team is currently seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a board member, you will play a vital role in guiding our mission to support individuals and families impacted by disasters throughout Rhode Island and surrounding areas.

Board members are expected to actively participate in organizational planning, decision-making, and committee work that strengthens our programs and community impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend five (5) one-hour board meetings annually (primarily virtual, with one to two hybrid/in-person meetings available)
  • Serve on at least one board committee aligned with your area of expertise
  • Contribute to strategic discussions and organizational growth
  • Support fundraising efforts and community outreach initiatives
  • Make a personally meaningful financial or in-kind contribution to the organization
  • Act as an ambassador for the Ocean State Disaster Team within the community
