Position Summary

The Clinical Director serves as the organization's lead clinical professional, providing oversight of therapeutic services, clinical supervision, quality assurance, program development, and compliance initiatives. This role combines leadership, strategic planning, and clinical expertise to ensure the highest quality care for clients while fostering a culture of excellence among staff.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

  • Provide oversight for all clinical services and treatment programs.
  • Ensure delivery of ethical, evidence-based, and client-centered care.
  • Support therapists in managing complex clinical cases.
  • Develop and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and treatment standards.
  • Promote best practices and continuous quality improvement.

Staff Supervision & Development

  • Supervise and mentor therapists and other clinical staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Support professional growth through training and clinical consultation.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and retaining high-quality clinicians.

Program Development

  • Evaluate and improve existing clinical services.
  • Develop innovative programs that address community needs.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives and organizational growth.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and client outcomes.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct chart reviews and documentation audits.
  • Monitor clinical quality indicators and implement improvement plans.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and ethical practice standards.

Community Collaboration

  • Build relationships with referral partners and community stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in professional and community settings.
  • Support outreach efforts that expand access to mental health services.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field.
  • Active independent clinical license (LCSW, LPC/LPCC, LMFT, or Psychologist).
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health regulations and evidence-based practices.

Preferred

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Background in program development and quality improvement.
  • Training in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems.
