Job description

OC Consulting is looking for a Freelance PR Coordinator to support day-to-day account work across our client roster. This is a part- to full-time, on-site role based in our Manhattan office, with flexibility for hybrid work once ramped up.

The role will assist in drafting press releases and pitches, coordinating media outreach, and maintaining and growing our press, media, and KOL contact lists. You'll work closely with our team on brand narratives and key messaging, track coverage and campaign performance, and prepare client-ready reports. You'll also plan and help execute in-person client moments — trunk shows, press previews, and small activations — handling logistics like venue and vendor coordination, scheduling, sample and inventory trafficking, gifting, and on-site production, along with post-event recaps. You'll take on light team management — briefing and reviewing the work of our interns — and join client meetings and brainstorms as a core member of the team.

This is a strong fit for someone who already moves easily across press, media, and KOL/influencer circles, has a real read on where media and luxury are heading, is comfortable running point on an event on the ground, and wants to deepen all of it inside a fast-moving, high-touch luxury environment.

Qualifications

  • 2–4+ years of experience in PR, communications, or a related agency/in-house role — fashion, luxury, hospitality, or lifestyle preferred
  • Strong understanding of the media and luxury landscape, with existing relationships across press, media, and KOLs/influencers
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with an editorial sensibility (WWD/Vogue/WSJ-caliber)
  • Experience planning or executing in-person brand events — trunk shows, press previews, or client activations — from logistics through on-site execution
  • Proven ability to coordinate campaigns, manage deadlines, and juggle multiple clients at once
  • Comfortable overseeing assistant- and intern-level team members
  • Sharp organizational skills and close attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
  • Bonus: familiarity with social media, basic analytics/reporting tools, and brand strategy
