COMPANY OVERVIEW
NukeMed Technologies, a subsidiary of SpectronRx, is a growing Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) based in Indianapolis, Indiana. With production locations in South Bend, IN; Bunker Hill, IN; and Danbury, CT with plans for additional future production facilities. We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our electrical and controls group. This is a ground-floor opportunity for an engineer that finds working with a small team with a wide-open path forward both exciting and adequately challenging. Controls Engineers at NukeMed Technologies support the design and build of equipment for the radiopharmaceutical industry, directly working with Electrical Technicians and Controls Technicians. This position is a clear stepping stone towards a Sr. Controls Engineer role as the department matures. This role may require occasional travel to one or more of the NukeMed Technologies and SpectronRx locations as needed to meet company objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design and document industrial control systems for radiopharmaceutical equipment.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLCs, electrical panels, instrumentation, and associated control system hardware across production facilities.
• Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC program revisions, and maintenance procedures in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
• Source and size components for use in designs such as motors, fuses, contactors, PLCs, HMIs, cables, pneumatics, etc.
• Build symbol and parts data libraries of new components used in design work
• Program, modify, and debug Rockwell Micro800, CompactLogix, and ControlLogix series PLCs platforms to support production needs and continuous improvement initiatives
• Coordinate with third-party contractors and controls integrators during installation, commissioning, and startup activities, ensuring work quality and safety compliance.
• Ensure all electrical and controls work is performed in compliance with applicable codes, standards (NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL508A), and company safety policies.
• Write test procedures for designed equipment and systems to support quality manufacturing of panels and equipment.
• Report project status, raise technical issues, and present design reviews to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders as required.
• Engage in a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the controls team, with a view toward scaling the department as the business grows.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Professional competency in designing controls systems for industrial equipment that use electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Able to create clear multi-line electrical diagrams, block diagrams, cable routing instructions, pinouts, and PLC I/O schematics.
• Extensive professional experience with EPlan Electric P8 (Preferred) or other applicable ECAD package.
• Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems including motor controls, instrumentation, low/medium voltage distribution, and control panels.
• Strong working knowledge of industrial pneumatics systems including valve logic, air prep, distribution, and actuation.
• Hands-on experience wiring or building industrial equipment control panels
• Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P amp;IDs, and technical engineering documentation.
• Solid understanding of NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL508A and relevant electrical safety codes and standards.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a time critical production environment.
• Extreme attention to detail in design and installation of electrical systems where service or fixing installation errors on the equipment is rarely possible or practical.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to guide technician staff.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent trade experience may be considered.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical, food amp; beverage, or similar) is preferred.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in all work activities.

• Valid Indiana driver's license.
• Must pass a background check.
• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
